Salty Socks
27th July-16th October 2011 …or, to give it it’s full title, ‘The Mysterious and Fantastical Wartime Tale of the Salty Socks of Dunkirk’. But you can call it Salty Socks for short.
It’s a story about a boy. And a boat. And some socks.
Set at the beginning of World War II, in a Blighty dripping with Brylcreem and bunting, a young boy has the world at his feet. He can do anything. Climb any tree, win any race and face any challenge.
Until one day he finds his mother crying.
With Shanty’s mix of mystery, mayhem and musical mirth, stories come to life, adventures become history and socks become legend.
